On Thursday, at Sony’s unveiling event of PlayStation 5, they foreshadowed another blockbuster Spiderman title known as Spider-man: Miles Morales.
From initial looks, the title came off as a standalone installation to the 2018 Spider-Man. Sony clarified that the game is set up in the same world, but with a unique playable character, which is a rip-off from the established prequel.
Insomniac Games and Sony had to tweet a couple of clarifications regarding the built-up hype. On the Telegraph, the publication tweeted “more akin to an expansion bolted on to an upgraded version of the original title.” To subdue the discouraging comments, Simo Rutter- Sony Interaction Executive Vice president- added that the expansion will come with “Major enhancements”.
The topic of enhancements wasn’t debated to the extent of further clarification. But it can be set up that the combat style, interactive nature, and the narrative will be immersive and extraordinarily tweaked to meet the next generation requirement.
“I guess you could call it an expansion and an enhancement to the previous game” Rutter Said. He also added, “There’s a substantial Miles Morales component — which is the expansion element — but also within the game as well there have been major enhancements to the game and the game engine, obviously deploying some of the major PlayStation 5 technology and features.”
The familiarity of style and the engine used for the new title was questioned critically in the event. Rutter gave an outstanding explanation:
“I think what is very interesting for everyone to see is how familiar games might be to some degree changed through the workings of PlayStation 5.”
This indicates that Sony has been planning to launch a decent expansion pack to the most praised PS4 exclusive title with 13 million units sold worldwide. The positive critics somehow led to Sony releasing another ethereal narrative. Well, it’s worth mentioning that in 2019, Spider-Man game of the year edition came in with more embellished features.
At the event, SIE proved the legitimacy of the PS5 by running the new Spider-man title on the SSD. This helped the developers give a living proof of the beast SSD used in the PS5 which is three folds superior to the contemporary SSDs in the market.
Even the loading times of both Spider-Man 2018 and the coming one differed largely. So, you can expect Spider-Man: Miles Morales to run significantly faster and better in the new PS5. The title is expected to be released at the end of 2020.
