10 Best Airflow PC Case for Active Cooling

When it comes to PC cases, most of the time, users think that a case is just used to house all of the components like motherboard, PSU, etc. But in gaming builds, that’s not the case because a computer case is not just a matter of aesthetics in your rig or to hold components. As we know, it’s not a necessary component, and we can efficiently run the PC without having a computer case. But in this situation, your fans will just blow air on the parts, and you have to prevent the motherboard and other hardware from bugs, insects, or even liquids.

So, you might get the importance of a computer case, but now there is a question: which case will be best for your rig? I saw some colleagues buying the most expensive components and thinking that they’ve got the best product for the year. It’s wrong because every product is designed for its use, and big size cases are only best for workstations while their prices are the same as of standard gaming casing. Taking care of this thing, we did some research and compiled a list of some of the best airflow pc cases 2023 that you can consider.

NZXT H400i

NZXT is one of the most reputed brands in computer cases, and the company focuses on providing cheap but excellent products to its customers. There are several well-known casing from them, including H510, etc., where we got another great edition from them, namely H400i. This case is a bit expensive, but for its features, it’s worth the price. Those users who are looking for the best airflow pc case can go with this one if budget is not a problem for them.

NZXT H400i comes in two different colors, including white and black, and you can select them according to the contrast of your motherboard. This casing has excellent options for fans, including two 140mm fans on the front panel, one on the backside, and two 140mm fans on the top side. Also, if you are using an AIO in your PC, it has support for 280mm radiator on the front and one 120mm radiator on the backside.

For storage devices, there are slots for 3.5inches HDDs and 3+1 slots for 2.5 inches SSD, and you can also use an SSD by converting the cage. There is 16 inches space for the graphics card, and of course, it’s enough for any big GPU, and you don’t have to worry about the size and compatibility. The things I don’t like in this case are that its motherboard compatibility is minimal, and it would be much better if there is a price cut in this motherboard.

Simplest Airflow PC Case

Fractal Design Define 7

Fractal Design has released several computer accessories in the past, including pc cases, fans, PSUs, and other components. The thing I like about their products is a straightforward design and level of features and performance as they have made some of the best airflow PC casings. We’ve previously seen casing like Meshify-C and some other popular models. Still, there we have Fractal Design Define 7, which is no doubt a great addition in their computer casing product list.

The base thing, in this case, is the presence of USB 3.2 Gen2 port on the front, which has a data transfer speed of 10GBPS and minimal noise level. As we are reviewing airflow cases here, let’s check out how many fans this case supports. There is support for two 140mm fans at the front side, one on the rear side—three on the top side, and two on the bottom. Also, there is support for radiators at the front and topside, and you can install them if you own a liquid cooler.

The thermal and acoustic performance of this casing is excellent enough, and you don’t have to worry about them. There is support for the water-cooling system, and it has full-sized tempered glass on the side panel. Though it lacks RGB fans and doesn’t come with any type of RGB lights and if you want it to look aesthetically pleasing, you have to get some RGB fans. Also, the price of this casing is too high, and I wouldn’t recommend you if you are on a budget.

Best compact Airflow PC Case

NZXT H1

As I’ve mentioned before, NZXT has launched some of the best computer cases in the market, and H1 is another excellent example of it. This casing is targeted for compact builds only and supports ITX motherboards, and if you are looking for a mid-tower, this product is not for you. The thing I like the most in this case is its compact and square like design, which gives excellent aesthetics, and also with that, there is side tempered glass, and that makes its best case for SFF builds.

NZXT H1 comes in an ultra-compact design and is compatible with ITX motherboards only, and the best option for ITX builds. This case is available in two different colors where one is white, and the other one is black, and you can consider it according to your own choice. If you are a beginner and never worked with ITX cases before still, you will find it much easier to install. There one thing that might disappoint you is it comes with only one fan and doesn’t support additional fans.

One thing you will find useful in this casing is it comes with a 650W PSU and an AIO cooler, but for these two things, you have to pay a lot of money. The airflow in the case is also good, and your hardware will run on average temperatures without making any noise. The bad in this case is it doesn’t support motherboards other than m-ITX—also, it’s one of the most expensive casing right now in the market. And lastly, there is support for only one fan which is not enough in any computer case.

Specifications

Case NameNZXT H1
Form Factor:Ultra-Compact Desktop
Colors Available:Black
3.5-Inch Support:No
2.5-Inch Support:2x
Fan Support:Pre-installed

  • Very easy to install hardware.
  • It is bundled with 650W PSU and AIO Cooler.
  • Best options for compact builds.
  • Best in class airflow in the casing.
Cons
  • Compatible with ITX motherboards only.
  • Most expensive casing in the market.
  • Doesn’t supports any new fan except the pre-installed one.

Budget-friendly Airflow PC Case

Phanteks Eclipse P300A

Phanteks is my favorite brand of computer cases, and I’ve used their case in my last build too. This company is known for its cases, PSUs, cooling solutions, and some other computer accessories. There we have the Phanteks Eclipse P300A case, which is a budget-friendly option and one of the best airflow computer case for a low price. This case is available in only one color, and its interior and exterior are painted with matte black, which gives excellent looks with RGB lights.

On the front side, there are two 140mm fans while you can also install a radiator instead of them, and there is one 120mm fan on the rear and one 140mm fan on the top. Phanteks Eclipse P300A has two 3.5 inches bay slots and two 2.5 inches bay slots for HDDs and SDDs. You can nearly install any three fans graphics card in this case and no need to worry about the compatibility or size issues. One thing that disappoints me regarding this case is missing the USB Type-C port on the front panel.

As it’s a cheap option so you might lack some features that other premium models are offering. The airflow, in this case, is good, and its design looks impressive and attractive to me. It has excellent noise dumping technology, which takes the noise to its minimal level. Though when your PC is running on 100% load, it goes a bit lousy, but on average, gaming, you will find it best.

Best Mid-tower Airflow PC case

Cooler Master H500M

Any real gamer can’t skip cooler master products from their list as they have released some of the best casing and power supplies in the past. This company is known for its quality and price tag and has some of the most famous cases in their inventory. Cooler Master H500M is another excellent option in our list, and as we can guess from its name, it’s a mid-tower case. This case has a lot of glass, including on the front, top and left side, which gives a bright look of what’s inside.

There is support for two 200mm fans on the front panel and one 140mm fan for the rear side; however, it comes with two 200mm fans pre-installed on the front. There is only one color available for this casing, which is black and coated on the interior and the exterior. For HDDs, there are two slots, and for SSDs, there are six slots though the 3.5 inches slots are not enough. On the front side, you can also install a radiator if you don’t want these fans there.

I’ve reviewed this casing and found nothing wrong in it, but that’s my option. Maybe you will find something that doesn’t seem reasonable to you. The thermal and acoustic performance of this casing is excellent enough, and it dumps sounds to its minimal level. You can install any 16.2 inches graphics card on this casing, and even it supports three fans GPUs too.

Aesthetics Airflow PC Case

Lian Li Lancool II Mesh

I’m sure most of the users reading this might not listen to Lian Li before, so there is a brief intro to this company. Lian Li is a Taiwanese based computer case manufacturer and, in fact, one of the top distributors of aluminum cases in the world. There we have the Lancool II Mesh, which is an excellent choice if you are looking for the best airflow PC case, and it will fit best on your requirements.

This casing supports three 120mm fans on the front panel, one 120mm fan on the rear side, and two 120mm fans on the top while it also supports radiators on the front and the top side. It also supports 15 inches graphics card means you can easily install any big three fans graphics card into it. Also, the motherboard compatibility of this casing is excellent, and you can install any mobo up to ATX on it.

This casing has one of the best air cooling cases, and that’s why I’ve selected it for my computer case for airflow list. The interior of this casing looks good as it has matte black color while the cable management is also impressive. Though this casing lacks some features like RGB fans, the exterior seems a bit boring, and there is missing USB Type-C in the standard model.

Best Runner-up Mid-Tower Airflow PC Case

Cooler Master Silencio S400

Cooler Master has released a hundred cases, and no doubt all of them were the best in their class. We’ve already reviewed a case before, but there we have a different lineup, namely Silencio S400, which is the best air pc casing. There are two models from this lineup, and you can select the best one according to your budget, but I would recommend you to go with the S400 one. This casing is only available in back color, and it’s painted black on the interior and exterior fully.

Cooler Master Silencio S400 has two fans on the front side and one on the rear side and two on the top side. This casing also supports the radiator in the front and the high side, and that makes it the best case in terms of airflow. This casing doesn’t support ATX motherboards as it has only four expansion slots on the backside. This casing has four 3.5 inches bay drives and also has four 2.5 inches slots for SSDs etc.  Also, you can install any big graphics card on this casing, but I would recommend you go with the two fans’ cards only.

Cooler Master Silencio S400 has a sleek and attractive design, which makes it the best-looking casing in the market. The build quality of this casing is excellent enough, and, in my opinion, if you are looking for the bulkier metal case, this one’s for you. The bad thing I got, in this case, is low thermal performance and missing USB Type-C port on the front panel. Also, the front panel radiator needs the HDD cage removal, which is a bit annoying.

There we have another great addition to our PC Tower Cases from Cooler Master, but this time we got the best case in true sense. The fan’s support of this casing is also great as it supports three 120mm fans on the front and three 120mm fans on the top, while there is mounting space on the back for one 140mm fan and two on the bottom. There is also the support of radiators on the front, back, top, and bottom sides, and this makes this casing best in terms of airflow. For the graphics card, it comes with GPU riser cable, and you have to install the GPU vertically, which might be a bit challenging for beginners.

In this list, it’s one of the best computer cases in terms of fans and radiator support, and thus, it provides excellent airflow in the case. The cable management in this casing is attractive enough, and it is compatible with most of the hardware in the market. Also, it is bundled with Gpu riser cable, and you use GPU in a vertical position. However, it might be difficult for some users who have not previously used raisers for graphics cards.

Corsair Crystal 280X

We all know that Corsair is a top-notch brand in terms of computer cases and PSUs, and the best thing in their products is to build quality. Also, we’ve seen in the past that they offer more gaming-related features that other brands and competitors lack. There we have the Corsair Crystal 280X, which is a mid-tower case and supports m-ATX and micro-ITX motherboards and has tempered glass on all three sides, which gives a great look to this case.

This casing supports two 140mm fans on the front side and two 140mm fans on the top while there is an option to add AIO coolers radiators instead of fans. There are slots for two 3.5 inches bay drives and three for 2.5 inches bays, and you can install HDDs and SDDs there.

The best thing, in this case, is three tempered glass, which gives excellent aesthetics if you did proper cable management and use RGB fans and lights. You can install any three fans graphics card on this casing, and it’s compatible with most of the models available in the market.
