Best RTX 2060 Graphics Cards for Gaming Builds in 2022

The non-RTX graphics card in the Turing series was no doubt the best budget-friendly GPUs and a great choice over the GTX 1060 and other options. The weakness of these GPUs is minor performance differences with GTX 1060 and the lack of features like real-time ray tracing and DLSS support. For those users who like to upgrade their GTX 1060, I would recommend you to go with at least the RTX 2060 because of GDDR6 memory and new technologies. Usually, users ask a question: which RTX 2060 to buy? Taking care of this, we made a list of the best RTX 2060 Graphics Cards to get in 2023.

MSI GeForce RTX 2060 GAMING Z

On the top of the best RTX 2060 Graphics Card list, we got MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z graphics card, which is specifically targeted for budget users but with the most advanced thermal design. While comparing its performance with some other graphics card, you might not feel some real difference because it offers the same clocks and other features but for a very budget-friendly price. Also, you might not feel some real performance difference doesn’t this one and RTX 2060S FE.

RTX 2060 Gaming Z has all of the premium features, including RGB lights, high boost clocks, i.e. 1830Mhz, DDR6 memory, Twin fans, and all other things. For cooling, it is using MSI 7th generation thermal design, namely MSI Twin FROZR, in which heatsinks are connected with pipes and allows maximum heat dissipation. In performance, you can easily max out some latest titles at 1080p with reasonable frame rates.

Not sure if you already know or not, but MSI has completely changed the design of their Gaming X series, and this one is the same as it. The shroud of this GPU has black color with fabric designs on it and a silver-colored border around the fans, which gives it a great look. There are some RGB lights on the front and the top side with the MSI logo, and you can change their effects within your PC. Also, this graphics card has a brushed backplate on the backside, which is also a plus point.

We can conclude this by saying that Gaming Z is no doubt a good graphics card, but some further options are even more expensive. Ignoring its price, there are some fantastic features like having higher boost clocks and a great thermal design. If you want something for a fair price and a great set of features, I would recommend you to go with the MSI GeForce RTX 2060 Gaming Z.

ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2060

The second GPU in the list of best RTX 2060 is ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2060, which I wouldn’t recommend if you have a low budget and are looking for a cheap/entry-level graphics card. This GPU has most of the premium features, including Aura RGB lights, best in class cooling solution, and much more. However, with these features and its high price there, you are not going to experience any performance difference as compared to other vendors.

The two things that make this graphics card better than the founder edition is its cooling technology and performance. I’ve reviewed many Nvidia RTX graphics cards, but there might be no other premium option like this in the market. It has a clock speed of 1860 MHz, which is almost the same as the MSI Gaming Z edition, and offers 6GB of GDDR6 memory, which is a significant advantage over the non-RTX Turing based GPUs. The power consumption of this GPU is a bit high than others, and you need a large size case for it.

Aesthetically this graphics card is beautiful as it has RGB lights on the front and backside, which you can customize from your PC. There are several RGB effects available in the computer application, and you can switch between them. The front of this GPU has three fans who work in an in-and-out system and have a metal brace that prevents the PCB from bending. Also, there is an idle fan feature that turns off the fans from rotating, which are not under load and below 55C.

There I would not recommend this graphics card because of its extremely high price, and there are some great alternatives to it. The performance of this GPU is excellent enough and has every premium feature, but still, this entry-level GPU is not recommended for budget-friendly builds. It’s an overclocked version that gives you some frame rate boost in games which and in the end, I recommend you wait for a drop of this graphics card.

  • Price-wise it’s a bit expensive.

EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 SC Ultra Gaming

In the list of best Nvidia RTX 2060 graphics cards, how can we skip the EVGA Ultra Gaming series? In simple words, I would say if you can skip aesthetics and want excellent performance and overclocking power, there might be no other best option available other than this GPU. This GPU has everything, including improved performance, significant headroom for overclocking, Nvidia G-Sync support, and much more. In simple terms, you can say that it’s the best RTX 2060 card to get in the year 2023.

This GPU has 6GB of GDDR6 memory, which is enough for modern games, and has a boost clock of 1755Mhz. If you are over conscious about overclocking, I would recommend you to look at the XV Ultra, which is more potent than this. The company claims that it’s a mid-size graphics card, but if you are space-conscious, there is a small single fan model too, which can be easily fit into any compact gaming build.

The looks of this graphics card are appealing, but I don’t know why some users don’t like the EVGA design. It has RGB lights that are customizable from the software in your PC and support various effects. On the front side, there is a plastic shroud colored in black and some light shade, which no doubt gives a great look. On the top, there is an 8-Pin power connector. However, this GPU lacks a backplate, which doesn’t seem reasonable.

The memory of this graphics card is not overclockable, which doesn’t seem feasible in mid-range vendors as its competitors are offering it. Also, it looks a bit boring in RGB builds because of its color scheme as users criticize EVGA GPUs because of their color scheme. But except these two things, this graphics card is best in performance, overclocking, and all other things. If you are looking for an MSI Gaming Z alternative at a low price, you are good to go with this one.

ZOTAC Gaming GeForce RTX 2060 Twin Fan

In the best RTX 2060 and Nvidia graphics cards list, there is no chance that we will skip the ZOTAC GPUs as they are the largest distributors of Nvidia for several years. The GPU we have is available in two different variants where the first one is AMP, which is much more convincing and supports overclocking while the standard one doesn’t have these things; however, it still beats the FE of RTX 2060S. So, let’s take a look at both of these models in this review.

Zotac graphics cards come with their own best in the class cooling system, namely Ice Strom 2.0, which is best in RTX series GPUs. This graphics card has a very small/compact design that allows it to fit into any small build. The standard version doesn’t offer high clock rates as this one has a core clock of 1680 MHz, which you can overclock a little bit but not too much. For all those users who are space-conscious and looking for a small budget graphics card, Zotac RTX 2060 is a great option to go.

The best thing I like about Zotac graphics cards is their cool and quiet operation as my old GTX 1060 works without making any noise even on high loads. But with this one, it might go loud if you are playing some heavy AAA title on it. This GPU has a black and silver color scheme with the Zotac Gaming logo on the top and has RGB lights, which makes the logo glow. Two fans also have a Zotac logo; however, they don’t have RGB lights, and even this GPU doesn’t have any big RGB strip.

I would recommend you go with this graphics card if you can compromise on some features like overclocking, RGB lights, and high performance in games. If you are willing to spend more, you are good to go with the Zotac RTX 2060 AMP edition, which is slightly more powerful than this one. This one has a simple design, excellent 1080p performance, and a must-have choice if you own a compact build and are looking for a small RTX 2060 GPU.

GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2060 Gaming OC

We have previously reviewed the three fans RTX 2060 from the ASUS Rog series, and there we have something similar but from Gigabyte as you might already know that Gigabyte and ASUS have most of the market share in GPUs and motherboards industry because they are providing the best products at a budget-friendly price. Here, in this case, Gigabyte put its best in this graphics card and made it the best RTX 2060 in terms of performance.

GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2060 Gaming OC comes factory overclocked at the boost clock of 1830 MHz while there is a 3% overclocking margin if you want. This GPU has 6GB of GDDR6 memory for modern triple-A titles, and you can get impressive performance at 1080p resolution. The back of this GPU has a large size black colored backplate with a simple Gigabyte written on it in white color. There are several Display Ports and one HDMI port for video output.

The plastic shroud is not different from the RTX 2070 and 2080 as it offers the same black color shroud with some RGB lights. Its Windforce 3x and as from its name, it uses three fans, which works in an in-and-out system where two fans take air inside while the mid one throws that outside. This system makes the best airflow in the heatsink, and apart from its fans, this GPU is using Gigabyte 7th generation thermal solution, which is excellent for 200W TDP GPUs.

With all of its best, I’ve also found some cons on this graphics card that you might face while using it. This GPU goes hot if put under high loads, and you have to set the fans to speed manually with some third-party software if you want to prevent it. Also, its design looks a bit boring and doesn’t suit modern builds; however, it picks colors from RGB lights in your builds. The price of this vendor is too high, and even for its price, you can get a much better alternative from team red.

Pros
  • Good performance as compared to competitors.
  • Picks colors from RGB build and looks attractive.
  • Factory overclocked and have a great thermal design.
  • Have a full-size backplate.
Cons
  • Very expensive vendor.
  • Bulky and large.
  • Goes hot under high loads.

MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 2060 Ventus

We have previously reviewed the MSI Gaming Z RTX 2060 graphics card, which was quite expensive and equipped with some premium features. Those users who like to have a good gaming graphics card but for a low price, the value can go with the MSI Ventus RTX 2060. This model comes with high clock rates from the factory, and you can experience some increased frame rates in modern AAA titles. Also, it is targeted at budget-friendly users without cutting off the basic features, which is no doubt a great thing.

As I’ve told before, this graphics card is overclocked by the company and offers high clock rates compared with the founder edition of RTX 2060. MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 2060 Ventus has three display ports and one HDMI port and supports multiple monitors. There are two fans on this graphics card, but due to a sharp cut on fans, it might cause some heating issues if running high on load and while overclocking though you can quickly fix this by adjusting the fan settings from the Windows application.

With its small price, you are not going to compromise on the aesthetics of this graphics card as it has black colored shroud and some silver touch on it. On the top, there is MSI and GeForce RTX logo, while there is also an 8-Pin connector at the end. The GPU is much power efficient and consumes less than 200W of power, but there it doesn’t mean that it’s low in performance because it serves the same as some high-end vendors.

While reviewing this product, I found two significant issues that some users might not like. The first is its fan curve issue, which I’d already told is fixable, and the second one is its lack of RGB lights. Except for these, you will find this graphics card much better than any other vendor because it’s very cheap and exceptionally powerful than the founder edition of the RTX 2060 graphics card.

Specifications

Number of fans2x
Size (WxHxL)9.72 x 2.04 x 5.07 inches
RGB LightsNot Available
Ports3x Display ports, 1x HDMI 2.0 port
Pros
  • Most affordable RTX 2060.
  • Consumes low power but offer same performance.
  • Four video output ports.
  • Exceptionally powerful than the reference card.
Cons
  • Lacks RGB lights.
  • Fans curved issue (Fixable).
  • Aesthetically straightforward.
  • Low overclocking potential

ASUS GeForce RTX 2060 Overclocked Evo

Ending our list of best RTX 2060 with another ASUS graphics card, but this time, we don’t have the one for high end, or enthusiast builds but a very budget-friendly offer. If you like to have a GPU that offers the same performance as other vendors, but for a relatively low price, this one’s for you. Likewise, the Rog Strix edition is also factory overclocked, and you can experience high clock rates with this great piece of product. For its low price, we are not compromising much, and that’s what attracts me towards it.

The boost clock of this graphics card is 1785 MHz, and as I’ve said, its factory overclocked so you can experience slightly more performance. It has one Display Port, two HDMI ports, one Dual-Link DVI port, and supports up to four displays at a time. The power consumption of this graphics card is also low; however, it doesn’t mean it can’t perform like other vendors but it’s energy-efficient.

The cooling solution of this GPU is evident as it has a large heatsink and two fans, which makes maximum heat dissipation in the GPU. It has a black colored plastic shroud that doesn’t have any aesthetic itself, but if you have RGB lights in your build, it will look great. On the front, there are some video output ports, while on the back you will find an 8-Pin power connector. The rear side of this graphics card has a full-sized brushed backplate, which also increases its beauty.

The performance of ASUS GeForce RTX 2060 Overclocked Evo is no doubt great for its price, and you will find it best in every way. One thing I was unable to see in this graphics card is aesthetics as it doesn’t have RGB lights except for a single strip on the top, and its body is straightforward in looks. If you are looking for performance and don’t want to spend much money on the graphics card, I would recommend you to go with this one best of its price to performance ratio. I found this one a compelling option in the list of best RTX 2060 graphics card.

  • Excellent performance at 1080p res.
  • Very budget-friendly price.
  • Plenty of display output options.
Cons
  • Lacks RGB lights.
  • Low overclocking potential.

Conclusion

As we know, RTX 2060 graphics cards are a great option in entry-level Turing architecture because GTX 16xx GPUs lack Ray Tracing and are slightly worse in performance. Our writing team did some research and got the list of some of the best graphics card vendors for RTX 2060 you can consider for your upcoming build. If you are low on budget, I would recommend you to go with the MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 2060 Ventus while if you have enough budget and looking for performance you can try RTX 2060, Gaming X, from MSI. There are some other vendors too, and you can select the best one according to your needs and budget.
